Tour itinerary

1. Day: Flight to Skopje

Flight to Skopje / Sofia. Transfer to our Hotel in Skopje. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

2. Day: Skopje

After the breakfast we undertake a detailed town inspection of the Macedonian capital. Skopje fascinates with a variety of architecture. Worth seeing are the Muslim quarter with his gigantic bazaar, Fortress Kale, Open Bazaar, Mother Teresa House, as highlights. In the afternoon panoramic journey to the mountain Vodno is planned, where we can enjoy the unique panoramic view. For the end of the visit, the monastery of St. Panteleimon is on our agenda. In the evening traditional Macedonian food and music expects us. Overnight in Skopje.

3. Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Debar - Ohrid

In the morning we leave the capital and go first to the area of Mavrovo. Unique natural landscapes with the numerous 2000th summits surround us. We reach the famous monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski and after head to city of Debar, where we take a break for a lunch. The way to Struga, leads us to the UNESCO town of Ohrid, where we stay for the next two nights. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid.

4. Day: Ohrid

We spend the day in this unique town. We begin our journey with a small boat trip in the Ohrid lake, one of the deepest lakes of the world. The church of St.
John (Kaneo) is probably the best eye-catcher, here we leave the boat and we go on foot exploring the Old Town, we see the Fortress of Samuel and numerous churches and monasteries. Ohrid has more than 365 churches. Enjoy your free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid.

5. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum – Brajcino - Bitola

First, we go to St Naum. We take an oar boat journey on the underground springs that feed the Ohrid lake. Afterwards, visit of the unique monastery of St. Naum, near the Albanian border. Then we leave the Ohrid lake and go to Brajcino, known for its natural beauties that attracts tourists through all the year. A short hiking tour along the wild rivers shows us the uniqueness of this region, near the Greek border. After an optional lunch, journey in the city of Bitola, the formerly most important town of the country at the time of the Ottomans. Numerous of unique architectural buildings with the charming main street enchant us. Dinner and overnight in Bitola.

6. Day: Bitola – Prilep - Strumica

In the morning we leave Bitola and the first highlight of the journey is the „hanging monastery" in Prilep, as a bird's nest in the rocks. By midday a winetasting expects us. Macedonia is indeed a famous wine country. Afterwards journey to Strumica where we can see the unique waterfalls. Dinner and overnight in the region of Strumica.

7. Day: Strumica – Skopje / Sofia

Transfer to the airport in Skopje or Sofia.
